@The Spot Restaurant Review
@The spot is a Vietnamese restaurant that dishes out classic Vietnamese food like pho and banh mi sandwiches in a hip and cozy setting not far from the school. The restaurant serves a range of Vietnamese dishes to satisfy every hunger and craving imaginable.
A wonderful example of this is the classic pork belly banh mi sandwich that exhibits equal parts refreshing crisp taste from the cucumber and rich umami taste from the pork belly. To further boost the color and fresh taste, the sandwich includes shredded pickled carrots. These carrots add a punch of pickled flavor and crunchy texture to the dish while bringing bright color to the sandwich with some cilantro (Classic banh mi sandwich $8.50). The pho tastes as good as it is trendy and delicious looking. The best thing about the pho is that it is accompanied by a large bowl of toppings for you to shower on your noodles, such as Thai basil, hot peppers, and bean sprouts. These condiments not only add color to your pho but flavor and texture as well (Classic beef pho $9.00).
The restaurant also has an appetizer or two that are actually fit for desserts like the sweet buns consisting of fried buns and a sugary dip. The texture on the fried buns is crispy on the outside but still soft and pillowy on the inside. Although this dish is on the appetizer menu, it deserves to be in a dessert section of its own (Fried sweet buns $6.00). The service is great and the food arrives promptly and tastes amazing. In conclusion, this restaurant may appear to be a hole in the wall, but it dishes out one good noodle soup. I would give this restaurant an 8.5/10 overall and an 11/10 for trendiness.
